One of the most prized pears for its sweetness and juiciness is the Pera Coscia (Thigh Pear), a variety that is widely cultivated in the Etna region. Its flavor, texture, and aromas are profoundly influenced by the volcanic soil in which it grows.
Its name, as you might guess, refers to its rounded shape that evokes feminine curves.
